A Long Weekend

Last week was Michael's spring break. I decided to pretend I was a law student too and took Friday off for a long weekend. What did we do? Beach!! Imagine, I sit at a desk and gaze out my window to 80 degree weather...all. day. long. This Friday, I changed that.

It was a day of favorites, including quality time with my main man, pancakes for breakfast, sunshine, the beach, and of course, green apples.

I spy a belly

sorry michael, i had to

Next up, massages. No picture needed. But know that it happened.

Finally, a weekend with the nephews in La Verne. I love these little rascals (they are actually the complete opposite of rascals. sweetest boys on earth!)

The proud grandparents. What a pair!

Major Update Part 2

The whole pregnancy process has been and is still pretty amazing. How could something the size of poppy seed make me crave entirely different foods and lose my morning appetite? I didn't even like ice cream for a while there! Who was that? Don't worry, I'm back in action in the ice cream department.

The morning sickness ended, but the roller coaster did not. Seeing that little one squirm around inside me was the most thrilling experience thus far for Michael and I. Baby White was incredibly stubborn during the first ultrasound. Legs crossed the entire hour and a half session! But four weeks later, it was a clear shot.

Our baby girl!
She's waving. So friendly.
Who do you think she'll look like?

23 weeks.

27 weeks.
Can you believe how much she grew in 4 weeks?!

Well, there's officially a baby in there. She is moving around like crazy! We're on the last trimester as of tomorrow, and I honestly can't wait to meet our little firecracker.

Major Update Part One

Well, hello! Per my little sister's request (she's bossy, which is mostly my fault because I taught her everything she knows), here's a little major update for the past 6 months. Yep. 6 whole months since I've written on this thing, and let me tell you, a lot has happened.

The first of which, on September 24, 2012 I found out this party of two was going to be a party of three! Pure bliss - with a little anxiety on the side. A baby was inside of me? Oh, that's why I've been feeling so crappy... After a delightful dinner discussing baby names and our new life, we decided to celebrate and buy Baby White something special. Everything at Target was pink or blue so, we ended up with some dazzling grey socks. We're too practical for our own good sometimes.

I could describe every event in exquisite detail... but let's face it. No one reads blogs. They look at them. For someone who writes as a career, this is a little demeaning, but hey, I'm guilty to. So enjoy a load of pictures, a few captions, and our life for the past 6 months in sunny San Clemente. Life Is Good!

Halloween
My least favorite holiday ever. This year, we carved a pumpkin that lasted two days and then did nothing on Halloween. I contemplated dressing up as a law school widow, but wait, that's what I wear everyday.

Our Two Year Anniversary

On this night, I legitimately surprised Michael with a weekend getaway to Coronado. Can you believe it? The man would have never guessed. First stop, BBQ, then a visit to the Hotel Del Coronado, a penny to remember it by, the San Diego Mission (not as cool as we thought it would be), and couldn't help but stop by my old high school. We're artsy. We create tile wall art.

A White Christmas!

In addition to announcing our baby, we spent a lot of time holding little Harper Ann Carter, the newest addition to the family, hit up the music and the spoken word with Mandi's family, had a 1970's Christmas feast (complete with Grandma's homemade mac 'n cheese casserole and pistachio salad), and so much more...

 The mister and the seester.

The Feast - 1970's style

How gross does that dollop of gravy look! I should never be a food photographer.

Michael gave me my first ornament.. a tradition that will last a lifetime. This year the theme was "bun in the oven." Get it?

My little niece's first Christmas.

The Christmas Miracle
Michael's stache. Can you see it? No? It's OK. We just pretend it's there.

And of course, precious baby Harper.

Stay tuned for the next three months... I know I promised six, but that's not happening.
