Baby Girl: Week 1

Well, on Friday we celebrated our first week with Emma Jane (yes, I can't figure out if I do or do not want a space in her name. I'll let you know when I do :). I have to say, I'm grateful that I've had a pretty manageable recovery, my baby sleeps like a dream, and I feel very blessed to share a home with my mom, who has done so much to help out and take care of her granddaughter and me. Aunt Zaza has been a trooper too :) She's the best sister I could ask for. Always there to make me laugh.

I can't believe she'll be off serving a mission in just 9 days! I will miss my best friend dearly, but I'm so proud to call her Hermana Carter.

In her honor, here are some pictures she took of her niece.

Week 1:

We love her funny faces
She's an easy "milk" drunk
Her cry reminds us of a little monkey. It always ends with "he he he... he he he"
She's a great sleeper. I always have to wake her up to feed her and already sleeps about 6 hours at night.
We love her funky ears and kissable lips
Her hands are always right up by her face. In fact, the doctor felt her hand on top of her head during one of our checkups. Doc even flicked the finger away!
We like to think she's a genius because she knows to hold her pacifier so it wont slip out of her mouth.

We love you baby girl!!

Sweet Baby EmmaJane

Being a mom is the coolest thing ever. Although I'm still getting used to the feedings and the burping, I think I have the most important part down - I am so in love with her! EmmaJane is so sweet, pure and perfect in our eyes. This is the most incredible experience of my life. It just feels right.

Thank you to all our family and friends for their love and support. We're so grateful to know our daughter will grow up and learn from such wonderful people.

Here are a few pictures from the hospital. It was a great experience, loved my nurses, but it's even better to be home with her. Plenty more pictures to come! (Sorry if you get sick of us new parents. We're a little obsessed :)
